OnTheAir
Video, our flagship application, is a sophisticated
playlist manager for use in broadcasting and for
information kiosks and concert events. It has been designed
with an open architecture - open to import and play out a
wide variety of different formats in SD and HD – and
open to support several different video I/O cards and
devices. Additionally, it is AppleScriptable and its
playlists are in XML format – allowing integration
with existing automation system. Logos can be overlaid on
all the clips in a playlist – or on different clips

OnTheAir
Video DV is the DV version of OnTheAir Video. It
will play the video through a FireWire Converter, so it can
transform you MacBook Pro in a broadcasting station. It
will however only play DV stream movies and will not

OnTheAir CG is a Character Generator application
that can simultaneously work with a number of different
animated graphics such as tickers, clocks, and animated
image sequences as well as pictures and shapes. It can be
integrated with OnTheAir Video or used in a standalone
mode. Control of the application can be interactive (for
example clicking on a button to start an animation) or done
via playlists in OnTheAir Video. For more info, click

INGEST
MovieRecorder captures video using a PCIExpress
video card. It can record in any format that QuickTime
supports (Apple ProRes, DVCPro HD, DVCPro 50, DVCPRO HD,
DV, etc). Video clips captured using MovieRecorder can be
edited during the actual ingest, making it very handy for
live sports editing. Additionaly you can schedule your

MovieRecorder DV
captures video using a Firewire Converter. It records only
in DV, but it can ingest two inputs simultaneously on the
same workstation, even on laptops. You could also add input
channles simply by adding a PCI Express or PCIe card to
your MAc, adding FireWire buses. Video clips captured using
MovieRecorder can be edited during the actual ingest,
making it very handy for live sports editing. Additionaly
you can schedule your recordings. Designed specifically to
work for live ingest, MovieRecorder DV will work with

MovieRecorder
Control is bundled with MovieRecorder and
MovieRecorderDV. It enables the monitoring of multiple

MXF converter is an import/conversion tool that can
import DVCam or IMX from any Sony XDCAM deck. It directly
converts MXF streams into QuickTime movies usable with

OnTheAir
Logger allows the logging of important events in a
video. Logging can be done live or with pre-recorded files.
Logging can be made with customisable shortcuts. The
metadatas can be exported and used in a variety of

NEWSROOM
OnTheAir
News is an affordable and intuitive newsroom
automation solution based on FileMaker Pro. It provides not
only most of the features found in systems costing several
times more but it also integrates seamlessly with OnTheAir

RADIO
OnTheAir Studio is a simple audio jingles playback
application. It uses both QuickTime and CoreAudio in order
to address any external or built-in audio devices. It
supports any audio file formats that QuickTime supports,
including protected AAC files from the iTunes Music Store.

OTHER PRODUCTS
OnTheAir Switch will control any Matrix Video
Switcher through RS232. It is AppleScriptable, meaning it
can be controlled from any other Application.
GPI
Commander is the only hardware product that Softron
Media Services markets. Many clients requested GPI
triggering from and to our Applications. We were able to
provide it with this simple USB to GPI converter
Box.
