New Dongles !

As of January 13, 2010, Softron Media Services will use new dongles to license its applications. The HASP dongles that were previously used will still be supported but will no longer be shipped when the dongle option is purchased for licensing.

What is new with the new dongles?
- a new design and look - it is metallic with the Softron logo and serial number written on it,
- there are no drivers needed! Just plug the dongle into the USB port on your computer and start your licensed (and favorite) Softron application!
- you can have multiple application licenses on one dongle (up to 10.) Previously you needed one dongle per application.
- More applications can now be used with dongles (only OnTheAir News can’t be protected with a dongle, and GPI Commander doesn’t need a dongle).
Important information :
The new dongles require the latest versions of Softron applications in order for the new dongles to be supported. As indicated previously, the HASP dongle will still be supported so there is no need to « update » your dongle.
A new « Application Licensing Document Explained » document is available for download with updated information on dongles.
Here is the list of minimum version to use with the new dongles:
- MovieRecorder 1.2.3
- MovieRecorder 2.0b28
- MovieRecorder DV 2.0.5
- MovieRecorder Express 1.0.14
- MXF Converter 1.5
- OnTheAir Logger 2.1b9
- OnTheAir Studio 1.b29
- OnTheAir Switch 1.0b13
- OnTheAir Video 2.4.24
- OnTheAir Video DV 1.5.1
- OnTheAir Video Express 1.0.16
